[glow=red,2,300]Human[/glow]
Resourceful, mostly hairless, beings who stand on their hind legs. They are quite well-built and are very adaptable to their surroundings. They stand anywhere between four and six-and-a-half feet in height, and can weigh anywhere from seventy to three hundred pounds. However, most humans lack the intelligence required to utilize magic. Humans have a lifespan which extends to one hundred and sixty years at most.
[glow=blue,2,300]High Elf[/glow]
Resourceful, cunning creatures almost identical to humans save their lean forms and elongated ears. Other than the hair on their head, they are bald. They are somewhat physically frail by nature. They stand anywhere between six and seven feet in height, and can weigh anywhere from eighty to one hundred and eighty pounds. Exceptionally skilled at magic, high elves are considered to be one of the most intelligent races. High Elves have an unending lifespan, but can die if they enter a constant state of depression, which will destroy their soul, or if slain in battle.
[glow=green,2,300]Forest/Dark Elf[/glow]
Resourceful, cunning creatures almost identical to humans save their lean forms and elongated ears. Forest elves are not very hairy, but do have some covering. Both the men and women are very athletic and are very adaptable to their surroundings, although they have come accustomed to living in woodland regions. They stand anywhere between five-and-a-half and seven feet in height, and can weigh anywhere from seventy to one hundred and eighty pounds. With eyesight and hearing on par with the reclusive vulpe, Forest elves make excellent archers and snipers. Forest elves have an unending lifespan, but can die if they enter a constant state of depression, which will destroy their soul, or if slain in battle.
[glow=purple,2,300]Vulpe[/glow]
Resourceful, cunning creatures almost identical to foxes, save the ability to walk on their hind legs, and their elongated ears, much like rabbits'. Above their fur-maned chests, they have feather-like tufts of fur which grow on their shoulders. Their long, bushy tails greatly resemble those of foxes. A very proud and fearless race, they inhabit the mysterious village of Enkiheim, located in the Lost Forest on Illumistrea. Partly because they live on enchanted ground, the vulpe boast fantastic speed and stealth, as their physical and magical capabilities rival those of the elves'. They stand anywhere between five-and-a-half and six-and-a-half feet in height, and can weigh anywhere from seventy to one hundred and ninety pounds. With their superior physical capabilities, the vulpe make excellent warriors, snipers, and assassins. Vulpe age three times slower than all other races, and usually live for five hundred and ten common years, which would be one hundred and seventy vulpe years. There are two subspecies of vulpe: "veyxeen" and "arbides." The veyxeen vulpe have long bushy, foxlike tails, while the arbides vulpe have short, stubby rabbitlike tails. The reason for the occurance of arbides is through years of inbreeding, but it poses no true handicap or deficiency to the vulpe.
[glow=blue,2,300]Halflings[/glow]
Halflings are resourceful, cunning creatures who greatly resemble tiny, mature human children. Those born in the cities usually scare very easily, and often run from fights rather than lock swords. Others born in the badlands however are known to be rather fierce and tenacious warriors. However, they are considered the jolliest of people, and enjoy great merriment and revelry. They stand anywhere between two-and-a-half and five feet in height, and can weigh anywhere from twenty to ninety pounds. With great speed and stealth, the halflings make natural thieves.
[glow=yellow,2,300]Dwarf[/glow]
Dwarves are master smiths and expert miners who have heartily stocky builds, but are not the result of human dwarfism. While they have a small stature, their spirits are nowhere near as tiny. They are also quite physically adept and dexterous. Most dwarvish smiths produce the finest crafts, making their equipment highly valued and demanded by many merchants and kingdoms. Like the vulpe, dwarves prefer to live in seclusion inside of their mountain homes.
[glow=red,2,300]Golem[/glow]
Creatures carved or created from inanimate objects, brought to life through magic. Their physical features depend on the way their creators wish them to look, and are rumored to be able to change their form at will. Many golems do not possess the ability to speak for many reasons. Also very notable is that their bodies' density depends on the type of material they were carved from. Golems can live forever unless they run out of energy or are destroyed. It is unknown how golems developed sentience or who were the first to create them. When pressed they can fight fiercely and without remorse, displaying an adaptability impossible for mindless constructs. As sentient creatures they don’t count as magical constructs.
[glow=lime,2,300]Centaur[/glow]
Creatures with the torso of a human and the body of a horse around their lower midsections. With the legs of a horse, centaurs are extremely fast and agile. Their eyesight is keener than any others and are said to surpass the elves and vulpe in archery. Because of their intellect and renown canny to stare into the stars, possibly into the future, many have regarded them as mystics. Like horses, centaurs' heights are measured in hands. An average male adult centaur can measure in at ten hands high and weigh around a ton. The average lifespan for a centaur is around three-and-a-half to four centuries.
[glow=yellow,2,300]Gnomes[/glow]
The eternally curious people who’s need for knowledge borders on lust. They believe that every piece of knowledge may one day hold value. Combined with meticulous discipline, this love of knowledge makes gnomes superb librarians, accountants, bards, and alchemist. But the same talents that make an accomplished bard can produce a skilled spy. Their talents for diplomacy and espionage have helped them maintain their independence across the world.
[glow=red,2,300]Half-Elf[/glow]
Half-elves are more common in the world than one might think. The race is unique to the continent of Darndel, where it grew out the earliest breeding of humans and elves. Half-elves can be as prideful and stubborn as true elves, but are also able to feel comfortable working with humans. This serves them in good stead as many find it difficult to live in the forest surrounded cities of their immortal relatives. Some favor their human parents so strongly that they could blend invisibly into any human society. Half-elves normally breed with other half-elves making them essentially their own race but intermingling between elves and humans will occasionally produce offspiring.
[glow=pink,2,300]Nymph/Dryad[/glow]
Standing at between 4 and 5 ½ feet tall. They are a very musical race that loves exploration, but their exploration is very limited until they reach adult hood when they are allowed to hollow out a place in their trees and cut out the very soul of their trees in order to shape into something to carry with them. Most dryads create instruments, but other things have been forged. Each dryad has a special connection to their tree, often symbolized by the blossom that grows either in their hair or where their belly button would be. Dryads have often been known to have wild colors of hair, such as green, or pink, but other than that, they look relatively normal. A dryad giving birth has never been seen because it involves their trees creating a home for the new little babe and a seed he must planted so that a falla tree can grow from it. It is very rare that a male is ever born in the dryad community, but has happened twice. Often to mate, they have the choice to either mate with each other or to take either a human or elf, or even a gnome (only recorded to have happened once) as their mate. Most of the time, they do this through friendly means; most dryads do prefer not to be violent (which is why half of them reproduce among themselves, preferring the company of other dryads). Dryad’s don’t age past their adulthood, and have been known to live to be as old as 3000, though they die when their tree does, and vice versa.
[glow=purple,2,300]Siren[/glow]
It is hard to believe that these soul-sucking wraiths were once dryads. They made an agreement with the Elves, believing that they could save the world. Unfortunately, as the poison began infecting the land, their trees began to die. Many were willing to take their own lives so that their trees would not become infected. Then, without warning, their bodies began coming back. It is said that if you go into the dark and hear their mysterious song, then you are already dead. They are pack hunters, sucking the very essence of life from creatures. Though they will hunt for woodland creatures, they prefer higher beings such as humans, and especially elves. Oddly enough, they leave dryads alone. Most of the time, all anyone will see is shadows, but if they do see a dryad, they will notice a deep purple flower growing either in their hair or on their belly button and the deep purple or black skin. Their bodies are thin, appearing almost sickly, but they hide an inner strength, It is said that their voices are hauntingly beautiful, and much like their fauna companions, they have the ability to stun their prey before they kill it.
[glow=red,2,300]Vampire[/glow]-Restricted
From the darkness of the void, came the first vampires. They were vicious by night, feasting on more than just blood, but the very souls of their victims, leaving a hollow body that eventually became a vampire follower to the one who sired it. In exchange to their souls, these vampires were given the gift of an ageless body, as well as superior strength and speed. They very from race to race, but it appears as if almost all the color has been drained from their skin due to lack of exposure to the sun. Their eyes are bright red, and they have fangs.
Races Immune to Vampirism: Ikorad, Ents, Dragons, Centaur, Golem, Ogre, Dre’nai, Suliwei, Orcs
The original vampire lords are something to reckon with, however. Slim and fair of skin, it is said that they appear attractive; no matter whose standards are in question. It is said that they can change their shape, and even size, as well as having almost lightning fast speed. Each has glowing eyes, though it has been said that the coloring is virtually limitless. The vampire lords from the void feed on a part of each soul that they drain, gaining power from it. They are extremely adept magic wielders, with nearly blinding speed, but on the flip side of the coin, they are also highly susceptible to magic effects used against them. They also have some distaste for sunlight; though it is not as disabling as with the normal vampires.
[glow=green,2,300]Ent[/glow]
Creatures most at home in the wood. It was said, that they evolved from the trees themselves. Despite their very existence being created through earth magic, the race as a whole has had little interest in magic. Some say that they use magic, but in all reality, it is simply them conversing with the trees. This race is, on average, at least 15 feet tall, though it varies. Often, it is hard to distinguish an ent from trees, unless it moves. They have faces, but unless their eyes are open, they are designed to look like knots in the wood.
[glow=pink,2,300]Neko[/glow]
Neko are the youngest race on Kyrandor. They first appearance of the Neko was a young female who appeared around the same time as the void. Originally, many species believed that these gentle creatures were a product of the void so they were seen as a less valuable species. While the first Neko found were sold as either slaves or intellegent pets; however, many other cultures chose to shun them. Neko are characterize by looking predominantly human with feline ears, and a furry tail. They are also known for their distinct sounds such as purring or mewing.
[glow=red,2,300]Orc[/glow]
Humanoid creatures resembling large goblins. There skin is a brighter shade of green than the dim goblinoids color. Their ears are elongated like the elves', and they have eyes as bright as copper or as white as opal. They sport two rows of sharpened teeth as dense as dragons', and have large, clawed hands. Orcs usually stand around 5’9” to 6’5” feet in height and are very heavy-weight. By their selves they are dangerous. However, in packs, they are even more so. Wise and wild, the orcs stand out as a race always on the edge of savagery. The orcs inhabit the marshlands of Sulwani and are largely nomadic choosing to sped the night either on what little ground can e found or in their boats. Other orcs have learned to work with humans and live in the small town of Gurek which was built on high stilts over the marsh’s water. In the past they were some of the frontline troops of the Suliwei and worked closely with the goblinoids but time has divided the two once close working races and now the orcs are on the constant look-out for the banding together of the goblin tribes.
[glow=blue,2,300]Troll[/glow]
Tall, humanoid beasts with frog-like heads and jutting ivory tusks. They usually have wirey, dark-colored hair and beady eyes, but stand at a great eight-and-a-half to ten feet in height and usually weigh in the high three hundreds. Trolls usually tend to be solitary creatures, but might wander in very small packs. When a troll is touched by sunlight, they are turned to stone, where they can be permanently destroyed. However, by nightfall, they would return to normal.
[glow=red,2,300]Ogre[/glow]
Brutish creatures who resemble ivory, grey, or pale green trolls with lumpy, rocky skin. The ogre's great strength is enough to easily overpower five to ten humans by itself. However, they aren't as intelligent as their troll cousins. Due to their massive bulk, ogres are rather sluggish and slow in reaction. Their height is ranged at an average of eight to nine feet in height, and they can weigh anywhere from two to three hundred pounds.
[glow=red,2,300]Giant[/glow]
Giants are creatures who greatly resemble humans and attain great strength and vitality. Their powerful fists make them forces to be reckoned with as they can crush almost anything. Rather hairy, they barely wear any clothes other than what they can make from what they kill. Highly adaptable to their surroundings, they will use their resources to survive. However strong they are, giants lack the intelligence to use magick. Giants usually range in the nine to ten foot height range and can weigh anywhere from two to four hundred pounds.
[glow=red,2,300]Goblinoids[/glow]-Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbear
The goblinoids are more than just tribes of savages scratching out an existence on the rough landscape of Sulawni. They willingly helped the Suliwei carve out a nation during the Last Great War and hobgoblins served as some of their finer officers and chiefs. Cunning, fierce, and stronger in number than most realize, goblinoids are poised to take back the empire that the Ikorid and their allies destroyed long—if only they can manage to keep civil war from tearing all the tribes to shreds first. Goblins are well, goblins, exactly as you always imagine them. Small green or gray or some other dull, dark color with suspicious countenances. Hobgoblins are taller but still stopping at about 5’5”. They are considerably more muscular than goblins though and have a stockier build in general. Bugbears are different. Taller still than both of their cousin species they average in at about 5’8” and are the bulkiest of all three. They also happened to be covered largely in hair. Hence the name Bug ‘Bear’
[glow=aqua,2,300]Mer’ai[/glow]
Praising the goddess of the sea, this race is largely humanoid. These wave riders have been known to even tame the storms. Content to live underwater, and often spending time hiding in underwater caverns, the Dre’nai have developed a clear layer over their eyes and increased vision (or perhaps human vision has just gotten worse). These guys are largely at home in the sea, their hair often being worn long by custom. They are gifted with both lungs and gills at their ribcage (which they develop at about the age of seven) so they can walk in both worlds. These guys can be home out of the sea for up to three months before they must return (and they drink a lot of water during that time). Contrary to popular belief, not all Mer’ai live beneath the sea. Many have made their home as sailors or pirates. Still, most make use of their webbed fingers and toes in order to live deep beneath the waves. They often prefer to stay neutral, but like water, once they make up their mind, it is hard to stop a wave. They have become very close to what is left of the Ikorid.
[glow=blue,2,300]Suliwei[/glow]
Among the most reclusive of the races, the Suliwei are creatures of the sky. While some have taken to purchasing and piloting the giant floating ships, others have built cities in the clouds, using extreme amounts of magic. Unfortunately, only one of these cities survived the war. Very few creatures ever make it to the Hatamos' flying City, with its bridges over actual clouds. The Suliwei are a tall race, reaching as tall as seven feet. They tend to have slender builds and can strike extremely quickly, using the air to further aid them. The most powerful of these could even manipulate the weather, although, it took meditation to reach that state. The Suliwei often have metallic colored hair in silvers, gold’s, and coppers. They often have narrower eyes than most humans often also taking those metallic colors. The last feature that truly sets them apart besides their eyes are the pair of wings on their back. These wings allow for moderate periods of flight.
[glow=yellow,2,300]Andraste[/glow]
The Andraste are the dream of a god. Borrowing the Ikorid design the touch of Ameraia has subtle altered their physiology making them a distinct species all their own. The Andraste have a excess of psychic energy and a natural gift for psionic powers. Andraste appear very similar to humans, but they have a grace and elegance that make them seem almost too beautiful. Most are slightly taller than average humans, and their faces have a slight angularity to them apart from the human norm, but these deviations only make them seem more attractive. Andraste are born diplomats and relate fairly well to individuals of all races—except of course the Andrali. They relate best with humans who they share the closest physical similarity, but some find themselves strongly drawn to other races instead. The oppose The Void in all ways within their homeland and like wise will oppose any force that corrupts and degrades mortal souls as those things make it easy for The Void to influence and individual. Throughout the century they have also developed the ability to not dream. They sleep, but since the void sent its demons to possess them in their dreams they used their abilities to cut themselves of from the astral plane and dreams.
[glow=purple,2,300]Fallen Ikorid[/glow]--Restricted
Even though the Ikorid knew exactly what was going to happen to them after their sacrifice, not all were fully prepared to accept it. the Ikorid have split up. Some search for a way to restore their link to the heavens while others have gone into seclusion. Those of the Ikorid who dug deeply into their magic, were left desiring so much more. They began to look for some form of connection, anywhere that they could. Some found it in a connection with the void... others by copying the other void creatures and drainning the life and soul of other creatures. As their hearts blackened, the fallen ikorid began to physically change. Their skin became ashen in color, and the metal woven proudly into their skin began to tarnish. Their very flesh began to rot. Ashamed of the affects, many of the fallen ikorid began covering themselves in bandages to hide some of the affects to the once proud creatures.The most hidden secret of the ikorid is their distaste for heat. An Ikorid's blood would boil at about 150 o F.
[glow=red,2,300]Demons[/glow]-Restricted
Once only shadows... whispers of unseen evil in the ears of men and elves, demons barely existed before the great war. It was the elves that unknowingly gave these creatures their might when the elves listened to one of their dark ideas, despite their better judgement. Much to the first demon's dismay, he was not in the form he would have wanted. Instead, he looked just like the elf who had once listened to him and sparked their betrayal of the earth and all their allied races. As time went on, he began to influence other creatures, his form continued changing, taking a trait from each. He began to inform the others of his kind... still little more than spirits, and soon they were able to gain shape, most through the fallen ikorid. This race soon began influencing not only people but animals, until they began to take on a darker, more menacing form that was more to their liking; though no deamon has true control over his form. Demons are not known for their true power, though they have the innate ability to see into the souls of others in order to find their truest desires. They have learned to use those desires to manipulate their way into getting whatever they want. They can also enter the dreams of a sleeping person and possess those who have weak spirits.
Resourceful, mostly hairless, beings who stand on their hind legs. They are quite well-built and are very adaptable to their surroundings. Resourceful, cunning creatures almost identical to humans save their lean forms and elongated ears. Forest elves are not very hairy, but do have some covering. Both the men and women are very athletic and are very adaptable to their surroundings, although they have come accustomed to living in woodland regions. In the past they were some of the frontline troops of the Suliwei and worked closely with the goblinoids but time has divided the two once close working races and now the orcs are on the constant look-out for the banding together of the goblin tribes.
[glow=blue,2,300]Troll[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Ogre[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Giant[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Goblinoids[/glow]-Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbear
[glow=aqua,2,300]Mer’ai[/glow]
[glow=blue,2,300]Suliwei[/glow]
[glow=yellow,2,300]Andraste[/glow]
[glow=purple,2,300]Fallen Ikorid[/glow]--Restricted
[glow=red,2,300]Demons[/glow]-Restricted
